Rochester Open 2005

23 City of Canterbury swimmers swam at the weekend at Black Lion Leisure Centre in Gillingham and came away with 41 Personal best times between them. For many of them it was their first gala. For results click here...

Robert Davies had an excellent day qualifying for 4 finals in the 13/14 yrs age group. He came 1st in 100m Butterfly, 5 th 100m Breaststroke, 6th 100m Freestyle and 6 th 100m Backstroke. Laurence Hill also 13/14 yrs had 3 finals to swim which resulted in 1st 100m Breaststroke, 3rd 100m Backstroke and 5th 100m Freestyle. More success came from Emma Hinde who in the Ladies Open made 4 finals, 2nd 100m backstroke, 3rd 100m Freestyle, 4th 100m Butterfly and 6th 100m Breaststroke.

10 year old Louis Moore swam brilliantly to achieve 1st 50m Butterfly, 1st 50m Breaststroke and 3rd 50m Freestyle, whilst his sister Natalie came 1st in both her swims in 11/12yrs 50m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle.

Other finalists were Katie French 10yrs 3rd 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly, Michael Moore Open 5th 100m Freestyle and 6th 100m Backstroke, Becky Prosser Open 4th 100m Backstroke, James Watson 11/12yrs 6th 50m Backstroke, Becci Hill 15/16yrs 6th 100m Backstroke and sisters Jenna and Lisa Wiles both won medals for Butterfly. Jenna 15/16yrs 2nd 100m Butterfly & Open 3rd 100m Butterfly and Lisa 11/12yrs 3rd 50m Butterfly.

The remaining 11 swimmers all achieved personal best times Hannah Baker-Godsal, Lewis Fitchie, Claire Hinde, Sophie Lynch, Jazz Malcolm, Alex Mather, Poppy Mather, Nicole Prosser, Charlotte Ruffle, Elizabeth Wells and Matthew Wells
