He continued his success into the afternoon adding a 4th place medal in the 50m backstroke and finally topped a great day by taking the 50mbackstroke title. All four swims were personal best performances.
Jessica Devereux (10) also had a string of great swims taking four medals on the day. She produced Canterbury’s fourth gold of the day taking first place in the 50m backstroke, this was followed up by a great swim in the breaststroke to take the silver medal. She also took home medals from the butterfly (4th) and freestyle (6th).

Benedict Esdale gave a superb display of controlled breaststroke swimming to take 2nd place in the boys 12yr category. Daniel Westbrook (11) produced a series of excellent swims to take three bronze medals in the freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke. Heather Mitchell (13) produced a strong swim to come home third in the breaststroke, she also received a medal for the freestyle (6th). |
Other top six finishes and medals were achieved by Katie French (13) 4th in the freestyle and 6 th in the butterfly, Simone Ward (11) 4th breaststroke, 5th freestyle Oliver Brawn (13) 4 th breaststroke, Keiran Stanley (12) 5th freestyle, Joseph Davies (10) 6th breaststroke and Rachel Jones (14) 5th place in the breaststroke
