Marjorca warm weather training 2008 - A Coaches tale

Day One:

Waking up at 3am having only gone to sleep 4hrs earlier is not the best way to prepare for a days hard travelling, but up we get anyway. It’s not difficult waking Bizzie & Nicole because Bizzie has been awake since 1am asking Nicole if it was time to get up yet.
We left home at 4am on the dot and made our way to pick up Holly. Once she was safely locked in the car, we travel to Heathrow. During the journey we receive constant updates from one of the most excited travellers, who informed us every 30 mins on how she was doing.
Arriving at Heathrow without any major travel disruption, we waved goodbye to our driver (Val), and made our way to the agreed meeting point. Miracle upon miracle by 6:10am everyone had arrived and we made our way through the BMI slightly awkward check-in, which managed to place the swimming club all over the aeroplane. Now this was not an issue for me as by lucky chance I was allocated a seat at least 3 rows away from any swimmers. Now some unkind passengers mentioned that I had planned it that way, but those who know me, know I’m not that smart

We landed to blue sky, but by the time we got to the hotel it had turned overcast. This however did not stop all the swimmers trying out the hotels pools; the outdoor unheated pool for the brave or foul hardy, the inside heated pool for everyone else. Then it was down to the beach where a form of volleyball, come football, come rugby started. After about an hour of this it was back to the hotel to get cleaned up for dinner.
