| Crawley Easter Meet 2006 - K2 - Crawley |
This Easter Canterbury sent a strong team of 33 swimmers to the new complex at Crawley. With most of the swimmers having just arrived back from the club's Easter training in Paris it was suprising to still see 14 more NQT's swum as well as 59 long course pb's.

The swimmers produced superb, competative swims with Helen Robinson (13) 1st in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Fly and 100m Freestyle. Helen was also 2nd in the 400m Free, 200m Fly and 200m freestyle. Rounding of some excellent performances Helen was also 4th in the 200m IM. Holly Ralfe(12) continued her fine early season form, producing 7 NQT's in coming 1st in the 100m and 200m backstoke, 3rd in the 100m freestyle and 200m IM, 5th in the 400m freestyle and 100m fly, and 6th in the 200m freestyle. |

Caroline Robinson(11) swam 7 races and found herself placed in the top six in all of them. she had 1st in the 100m freestyle, 2nd in the 200m freestyle and 100m breaststroke, 3rd in the 400m freestyle, 4th in the 200m breaststroke, and 5th in the 50m freestyle and 200m IM, a great set of swims. Also continuing a set of excellent swims with top 6 placing in 6 out of 8 races was Louise Smith(14). Included in these times was a NQT time for the 100m breaststroke in which Louise also came 1st. There was also a first place in the 200m breastsroke. 4th in the 50m free, 5th in the 200m IM and 200m backstroke and 6th in the 100m backstroke. |
| There was also a first place in the 50m freestyle where Catherine Lough(14) took her shortcourse freestyle form to a 50m pool. Catherine was also 6th in the 200m breaststroke and 200m freestyle. Karl Botha(15) had 6 swims, 3 resulted in NQT's. The final placing for Karl were 1st in the 100m fly, 3rd in the 200m fly, 5th in the 50m freestyle and 6th in the 100m and 200m freestyle. Sophie Tomlin gain her second NQT in the 200m backstroke. She was 2nd in that race and 6th in the 800m freestyle. |

Josh Maley made it 5 placing in 5 races with 2nd in the 200m backstroke, 3rd in the 200m & 400m IM and 100m breaststroke and 4th in the 100m backstroke. Francesca Beale(16) swam a pb to grab 2nd place in the 200m breaststroke and Jacob Gainey(13) also pb'd in the 800m freestyle to get 2nd place. He also swam into 5th place in the 200m backstroke. Emma Drabble(15) gained 3rd in the 50m freestyle and Guy Hewett(13) came home in 4th for the 100m fly and 5th in the 100m freestyle. There was also a 4th place for Ben Watson(13) in the 400m IM. There were 5th places for Emma Harris(15) in the 100m and 200m freestyle as well as 6th in the 50m freestyle. Stephanie Chaplin(17) had 2 top 6 finishes, 4th in the 400m IM and 6th in the 100m fly. Emma Stanley(16) was 4th in the 100m fly and there were 6th places for Luke Smith, swimming a NQT time in the 1500m, Alex Krunic(14) in the 800m freestyle and 400m IM, Natalie Moore in the 100m breaststroke, and Nicole Prosser(11) in the 100m backstroke. |
As well as all the top six placing there were pb's for Liam Drew, Katie French, Angus Hewett, Danielle Ingleston, Sofia Krunic, Louis Moore, Ryan Powell, Michael Stanley, Ben and Erin Walsh and Elizabeth and Matthew Wells. So yet again Canterbury swimmers show they can mix it with the best and come away with medals, placings and pb's. Credit again goes to, first all the swimmers for their hard work and dedication but also to Chief coach Tony Smith and his team of coaches, proving once again their expertise is vital in the successes of the club.
