Bexley Open 2005

Thirty City of Canterbury Swimming Club members travelled to Crystal Palace Swimming Pool on 16th /17th April to attend the Bexley Long Course Open Meet. 46 personal best times were achieved.

12 year old Holly Campbell won gold medals in 200m & 100m Breaststroke, 200m & 100m Backstroke and in the 200m Individual Medley. Also in the 12 year old age group was Aleks Krunic who won gold in the 400m Individual Medley and silver medals in 200m & 100m Backstroke, 200m Individual Medley and 100m Freestyle. 11 year old Ben Watson won a silver medal in 11/12 years 200m butterfly with team mate Jacob Gainey winning bronze, Jacob also won silver in the 11/12years 200m Freestyle. Danielle Ingleston swam a personal best time in the girls 11/12years 200m Butterfly to earn herself a silver medal.

The boys 13/14 years age group saw 3 City of Canterbury swimmers in the medals. 14 year old Karl Botha won gold in the 100m Butterfly and bronze medals in 100m Backstroke, 100m & 200m Freestyle. 13 year old Luke Smith swam in the 400m Individual Medley and the 200m Butterfly winning silver medals in both, 14 year old Angus Hewett came 2nd in the 400m Freestyle.

Two 13/14 year old City of Canterbury girls brought home medals. 14 year old Lauren Wraight won bronze medals in 200m Individual Medley and 100m Butterfly. Emma Harris won bronze in 200m Backstroke. 17 Year old Joshua Maley won bronze in the 17 years and over 200m Individual Medley.
